The concept of the architecture is to create a responsive strategy that allows for the “organic growth” of structures within the site while maintaining a coherent relationship to the land and each other.
A primary building system employs components that configure into a variety of plan and building forms. The architecture responds to the natural conditions of the site; topography, solar orientation, weather, views and cultural assets. Each design adapts the best practices of sustainable building technologies and support the community as a whole.
The goal is to move away from transplanted techniques and use strategies that respond to the qualities and assets of this place in a meaningful way, through this process the architecture will inherently be distinctive, Hawaiian and relevant.
